How many tasks have you truly automated end-to-end with GenAI? 🤔
My guess is that not many meet the 100% A-to-Z requirement, and most likely 0 critical tasks do.
I can, however, believe that there is a long list of tasks that are now partially automated, or at least require less manual effort.
My guess is that you’ve integrated AI into your workflow in a way that enhances you, not replaces you.
We keep being told that AI will “automate” everything, but I use AI many hours a day and can’t see at all how it could completely replace most of what humans currently do.
Having agents run security audits on your website or automatically draft more personalized emails are cool tricks but these are jobs that AI has “created.” Besides, in many cases, deterministic programs could already get us almost all the way there.
The reason is simple: these tools do not have vision or real understanding. They make mistakes, lack judgment, and cannot be trusted to represent us.
If you let your “Claw” (or any agent) run around, write personal messages, and purchase things for you, that’s great!
But in a business context, this introduces risk (and don’t businesses just love risk?).
Aiming for AI to fully automate tasks is an UNREASONABLE GOAL, and it’s preventing us from reaping the real rewards of AI:
↳ Augmenting and improving our work.
Put differently
➡️ More thought needs to go into how we collaborate with AI, and less effort should be spent chasing A-to-Z, one-shot automation.
