How much time do you spend prompting?

How much time do you spend prompting?

Do you:
🔹Carefully engineer every prompt with a special syntax
OR
🔹Do you write a vague typo-full sentence and hope for the best?

In my view the optimal prompt is probably somewhere in-between, depending on the use case of course.

One thing's for sure, there seems to be a limit to how far a single prompt can take you and I often find that iterating to the final result is the best approach.

🔹Quick generic information on a topic → Low marginal value of effort
🔹Long review task with attachments and specific desired output → High marginal value of effort
🔹 Almost anything else → 2-sentence prompt with basic context followed by iteration
